White Oak Virtual Academy relies on a the expertise of certified educators - educators who see the value of both traditional and nontraditional educational approaches.

The Academy does not offer a traditional page-a-day approach. It does not expect the parent to be the lecturer or performer.

White Oak Virtual Academy is a project based learning program for those who choose alternative education. Student work is monitored, interactive, and maintained in portfolio and transcript formats.

White Oak Virtual Academy is organized into four (4) lodges, determined by the age and ability of each learner. The Academy faculty work with each learner and family to design and implement a Managed Educational Plan. We rely on parent and student input along with various assessment tools to assist in developing an individual learning plan.

Walnut (ages 6-8)
Cedar (ages 9-11)
Willow (ages 12-14)
Rowan (ages 15-18)

The Academy provides a comprehensive curriculum in a technology enhanced learning environment. The project based curriculum has been designed and developed by our faculty and has been alligned with academic standards of national professional educational organizations.
